PregnancyLog exists because the honest answer to most pregnancy questions is more useful than the reassuring one – and far more useful than the frightening one.
What this site is
PregnancyLog is an independent pregnancy information site. We write long-form guides on the questions people search for when something is confusing or worrying: what a faint line at 9 DPO really means, why the tailbone pain started in the second trimester, whether a particular tea is safe, when vomiting stops being normal.
Every guide is built the same way. We start from the question as people actually ask it, explain the physiology in plain language, give the numbers where numbers exist, and mark clearly the point at which the answer stops being “this is common” and becomes “call someone now”.
Who writes it
PregnancyLog is written and edited by Shanza, the site’s founder and editor. Articles are researched against published clinical guidance and peer-reviewed literature, and are rewritten rather than paraphrased from other blogs.
We are not doctors, and we do not pretend to be. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Where a question genuinely needs a clinician, the article says so instead of filling the gap with padding.
How we research and review
- Sources. We prefer national maternity guidance, professional bodies and systematic reviews over single studies or other blogs.
- Numbers. Where we give a figure – detection rates, hCG ranges, timelines – it comes from published data, and we say how much uncertainty sits around it.
- Review dates. Every article shows when it was last reviewed and updated at the bottom of the page. Guidance changes; we revisit older guides rather than leaving them to rot.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and note the change. Use the contact page.
How PregnancyLog makes money
The site is free to read, has no paywall and does not require an account. Running costs are covered by advertising and, in future, affiliate links to products we would genuinely suggest. Commercial relationships never decide what we publish or what a guide concludes, and any affiliate link is disclosed on the page it appears on.
What we will not do
- We will not scare you into a click. Symptom articles lead with how common something is before they cover the rare causes.
- We will not publish thin, AI-padded filler to chase a keyword.
- We will not sell or share your personal data. See the privacy policy.
